Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I choose colonix over other colon cleansing products?

The Colonix Advanced Internal Cleansing Program is a specifically designed product with a long track record. Crafted from only premium ingredients, including over 40 well-established medicinal herbs, it is the most widely used all-natural colon cleanser available today. Each ingredient of the Colonix program was chosen specifically for its ability to cleanse the colon and contribute to digestive wellness. The powerful proprietary blend of herbs produces a synergistic effect to deliver consistent results.

Other cleansing and fiber products available on the market are likely to include any number of chemicals or flavor-enhancing sugar substitutes that may further compromise both the immune system and the natural elimination cycle. These same products are also often hard on the body, trying to force it to expel in hours or days the toxic buildup that may have taken years to establish itself in the colon. In addition, many similar products are made using low quality (cheap) herbs and fiber in order to keep the price down.

By contrast, the Colonix program is very gentle, designed to work over the course of 1–3 months and uses only premium quality herbs and fiber that meet stringent quality requirements set by our manufacturers, who follow current Good Manufacturing Practices set by the Food and Drug Administration.

Unlike other cleansing and fiber products, the Colonix program will not keep you tied to the bathroom, unable to leave your house. Indeed, the combined ease and effectiveness of the Colonix program have made it as popular as it is with all of its users. Finally, unlike ordinary fiber supplements, the Colonix program is a 3-part system designed not only to gently sweep the colon clean, but also to promote a restful sleep and restore bowel regularity as well as promote overall colon health. All these things make the Colonix program the #1 selling colon cleansing program available today.

What makes DrNatura different from other colon cleanse products on the market?

Here is how the cleanse works and this is what makes it different from other cleanses. Notice that these are not just 3 kinds of pills, but 3 different items: herbal capsules, powder, and a tea, which work very well together. Each one of these items does a specific job.

The herbs in Paranil, such as silymarin, have been used for thousands of years to promote a healthy liver. The intestinal cleanser, which you mix with water or juice and then follow up immediately with an 8 oz. glass of water, becomes like a sponge and attaches to the build-up on the wall of the colon. Then when you have the herbal tea at night before you go to bed, while you are sleeping and your body is assimilating, this tea is getting ready to push out the spongy material the next day. All three products are needed at the same time for a powerful and comprehensive internal cleanse; however, the entire program is not recommended for long-term use.

What is the difference between colon irrigation (aka colonic, hydrotherapy, hydro colon therapy) and colon cleansing?

Colon irrigation (or colonic) is a method of cleansing the colon by passing warm water into your bowel through a tube that is inserted into your rectum. This water circulates through your colon in order to encourage your bowel to empty itself. Colon cleansing, on the other hand, is an oral cleansing regimen designed to clean the entire digestive tract. The Colonix Program by DrNatura is an oral cleansing regimen that consists of an herbal fiber supplement, a purifying capsule and an herbal tea. It was developed as a natural and gentle alternative to other forms of colon cleansing and is the most popular colon cleansing regimen in the world.

Can I do a colon cleanse while I’m pregnant or nursing?

Internal cleansing/detoxification is not recommended for pregnant or nursing women. The mother should wait until her baby is weaned completely.

If you have additional questions, we recommend you consult a health care provider before taking any drug or dietary supplement.

How long do I have to do a cleanse?

Typically, we recommend undertaking the program for three months if it is your first time cleansing. However, completing one to two months of the program may be sufficient. After the initial cleanse, detoxify your body at regular intervals: once annually or every six months. For optimum results, cleanse with both the Colonix and Toxinout Programs for 30 or 60 days.

When will I see results from colon cleansing?

Everyone is different; however, it is important to follows the instructions for use carefully in order to achieve optimal results. Some customers notice a change in bowel habits shortly after beginning the program, while others may not experience changes for two to three weeks. However, if constipation persists for longer than one week, stop using the DrNatura products and consult a healthcare professional, as it may be a sign of a serious medical condition.

At times, people may expect immediate and dramatic results and may overlook subtle changes they may be experiencing. These changes may include one or more of the following:

  • Going to the bathroom more frequently
  • Stronger odor in stools
  • Different colors and shapes in your stool

These are some of the signs that may indicate the program is working for you. Some people may observe one or more of these changes, and some people may experience other changes not listed above. Keep in mind the cleanse works differently for different people depending upon factors such as lifestyle, diet, etc. Individual results vary.

What kind of fiber is in Colonix fiber?

The Colonix fiber contains 1/3 insoluble and 2/3 soluble fiber. Psyllium is the main ingredient in the fiber; 73% is psyllium and the remaining 27% is made up of a combination of other herbs.

Psyllium is a natural bulking agent which yields 60 to 70 percent soluble fiber – eight times that of oat bran. Psyllium does the heavy-lifting in two parts: it swells into a spongy mass, absorbing fluids and toxins. It also breaks down waste and moves build-up that has been trapped in the folds and crevices of the colon. Psyllium is also well studied and proven to reduce total cholesterol and low-density lipoprotein ("bad cholesterol").

Standard psyllium is only 85% grade. Our psyllium, however, is 95% grade. It costs more than standard psyllium, but we also believe that the higher grade is more effective in cleansing the colon, and it dissolves better in liquids.

Soluble Fiber - Breaks down into a gel on your insides.

Insoluble Fiber - Goes right through you. Improves constipation.

You need both of them!

What kind of psyllium do you use in Colonix?

We use 95% grade, high quality psyllium husk sourced from suppliers in India who comply with strict quality standards set by our U.S. manufacturer. Our manufacturer follows GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) guidelines set by the Food and Drug Administration.

Why does the Colonix fiber contain maltodextrin? Is it Non-GMO?

The maltodextrin in Colonix is a very small amount (about 2% of the total weight of Colonix) and is used to help facilitate filling the canister in production, prevent caking and to help stabilize and maintain the texture of the fiber. The maltodextrin in Colonix is non-GMO. It is not used as a sweetener. Stevia Leaf Extract is a natural sweetener used to sweeten Colonix.

Does Colonix contain Bentonite?

We did extensive research on Bentonite Clay when formulating the Colonix Program and decided NOT to use it for the following reasons:

We wanted to have an all-natural, plant-based herbal fiber that can be taken daily over the long term – and bentonite is a clay that contains different types of minerals, including aluminum.

There has been a long-standing controversy around bentonite because of its aluminum content.

How much water should I be drinking per day while I’m on the colon cleanse, Colonix Program?

You should drink at least 64 ounces, or eight 8-oz. glasses of water, per day in order to effectively cleanse.

If I stop taking the Colonix Program, and resume taking it in a few days, will it still work?

The program works best if taken continuously. Taking a break for a few days should not alter the effects in any way, provided you resume taking the products as recommended for the duration of the program.

Will the Colonix program affect serious fitness training?

Regarding intense or competitive training, in the beginning of a detox you may (or may not) feel a little uncomfortable the first 7-10 days. Just see how you feel each day, as far as your energy is concerned, and listen to that intuitively. While detoxing in the early stages it is possible that you may not have as much energy for a few days. But within 2 weeks, many customers report increased energy and feeling revitalized.

Can my child use Colonix?

No. The Colonix Program is recommended for those 18 years and over.

Will the colon cleanse cause the plumbing in my house to get backed up?

We have never heard of anyone having plumbing problems from using these products.

Are there any warnings associated with KleriTea?

KleriTea contains senna. It is designed for periodic cleansing. Long-term continuous use of senna products is not recommended. After the first five days of your cleanse, we recommend using KleriTea every other day or less (only as needed for regular bowel movements). KleriTea should not be used by pregnant or nursing women or children under 18 years of age.

What materials are used to make the KleriTea tea bags?

All tea bags are made with a blend of wood and vegetable fibers. Some manufacturers use chlorine to bleach the paper used for the bags, which creates a dioxin chemical residue. However, our filter paper comes from suppliers that have converted their bleaching processes to a chlorine free process using hydrogen peroxide or oxygen instead. Our suppliers also confirmed through testing that no dioxin can be detected in the KleriTea filter paper.

What are the components of the natural citrus flavor in KleriTea?

The natural citrus flavor is made up from lemon flavor and passion fruit flavor.

How much senna is in KleriTea?

Per serving, KleriTea contains about 25mg of sennocides, the active component in senna leaf.

How long can I use KleriTea?

KleriTea is designed for short-term use. It contains senna, which should not be used long-term. After the first five days of your cleanse, we recommend using KleriTea every other day or less (only as needed for regular bowel movements). KleriTea should not be used by pregnant or nursing women or by children under 18 years of age.

Will I be going to the bathroom all day? I am afraid of eliminating at work.

While extremely effective at cleansing the colon, the Colonix program is also very gentle; most customers report that they do not have to 'run to the restroom' or keep in close proximity to one. For the majority of people, the elimination happens during the first hour or two after waking up. If you want to 'play it safe', however, and you work from Monday to Friday, you might consider beginning on a Saturday morning so you have the first couple of days to get used to the program at home.

KleriTea is designed to work 7 or 8 hours after drinking it, which is why you should take it at bedtime, so you will eliminate in the morning before you leave home.

Is there a risk of Colonix removing my intestines?

No. It would be impossible to cause someone to eliminate their intestines.

Why does DrNatura recommend using Flora Protect Probiotics while cleansing? Is Colonix harming the good bacteria in my body?

The reason we recommend Flora Protect with the Colonix Program is NOT because the Colonix Program may harm good bacteria in the colon, but because modern diet (sugar, caffeine, white bread), the use of antibiotics and certain other medications, and other factors may result in reduction of good bacteria in the GI tract.

Not only will Flora Protect maximize the effectiveness of the Colonix Program, it may also help address specific issues, such as improper digestion*. While the Colonix Program is 100% effective on its own, Flora Protect complements its effectiveness and can be taken over the long-term to maintain a healthy immune system and support good digestion.*

What is the difference between Colonix and Toxinout?

The Colonix program is a 3-part all-natural system for cleansing the colon and contributes to digestive wellness. Colonix is designed to be easy to use while simultaneously working to accomplish several goals including: promoting regular and complete bowel movements, supporting a restful sleep, and helping the removal of toxic buildup.* The Colonix program consists of a fiber supplement containing both soluble and insoluble fiber, liver purifying capsules, and a gentle laxative tea; all three are crafted from premium grade herbal ingredients.

Whereas the Colonix program is designed to detoxify the colon and liver,* the Toxinout Program helps promote optimal wellness* and enhance your cleanse by giving your body much-needed nourishment after the cleanse.

The Toxinout Program contains three components which provide a complex of natural, effective herbs, amino acids, essential vitamins, antioxidants and a multi-strain, enteric-coated probiotic supplement. Harnessing the natural power of herbs, the Toxinout Program was developed to nourish the entire system and provide antioxidant support.

  • Replenishes important nutrients after cleansing*
  • Helps the body protect itself from free radicals*
  • Supports a healthy immune system*
  • Promotes healthy digestion*
  • Supports healthy liver & blood function*

The Colonix and Toxinout Programs are designed to work together to first thoroughly cleanse and detoxify the whole body and then protect and nourish the entire system.* The programs can be used simultaneously, but we recommend this combination to those in excellent health or those who cleanse regularly. For people with average health, or beginning a first-time cleanse, we recommend using the Colonix Program alone for the first 30 days, preferably combined with Flora Protect Probiotics. After that, Toxinout can be added in the second month of your cleanse.

When should I start the Toxinout program?

The Colonix Program and the Toxinout Program can be done together or completely independent of each other; however, using both programs together is only recommended for those who are in excellent health and/or cleanse their bodies on a regular basis.

If your health is average, or if you’ve never detoxified your body before, we recommend using only the Colonix program for the first month, preferably combined with Flora Protect Probiotics. After that, the Colonix and Toxinout can be used together, or the Toxinout can be used on its own after completing 1–3 months of the Colonix program.

Are there any side effects to these programs?

Some people may experience side effects, even to natural products; however, be assured that DrNatura products have been used safely by hundreds of thousands of people throughout the past decade. Commonly reported side-effects are gastrointestinal in nature and include abdominal cramping, bloating, constipation, diarrhea, and nausea. Most side effects are temporary; however, if you are concerned, we recommend that you stop taking the DrNatura products immediately and consult with a healthcare professional.

Some side effects, such as bloating and constipation, may be caused by not drinking enough water. Please be sure to drink the recommended eight 8 oz. glasses of water each day while on the program, and follow all instructions for use carefully in order to achieve optimal results.

We want you to be happy with our products. We offer a 60-day money-back policy. That’s how much we believe in the worth and effectiveness of each and every DrNatura product.
